Prenatal Preparation

  • Prepare for breastfeeding and lactation before your baby arrives. Instruction on prenatal colostrum collection. Prenatal consultations can address feeding goals, previous breastfeeding experiences, questions or concerns about anatomy, pumping preparation, and what to expect during the first days after birth.

Early Feeding and Lactation Support

  • Support during the early postpartum period may include positioning and effective latch, milk transfer, feeding frequency, nipple or breast pain, engorgement, hand expression, establishing milk supply, and understanding whether feeding is progressing as expected.

Milk Supply and Feeding Challenges

  • Help with concerns including low or perceived low milk supply, oversupply or forceful letdown, painful breastfeeding, latching difficulties, sleepy or reluctant feeding, supplementation and combination feeding.

Pumping, Bottle Feeding, and
Returning to Work

  • Consultations may include pump use, flange fitting, pumping schedules, maintaining milk supply, bottle introduction, paced bottle feeding, combination feeding, milk storage, and planning for a return to work or school.

Complex Feeding Situations

  • Families navigating twins or multiples, premature or medically complex infants, postpartum complications affecting feeding, oral-function concerns, and relactation or induced lactation.

  • When a concern calls for evaluation or treatment outside the scope of lactation consulting, I help families identify appropriate medical or other professional resources.

Weaning and Ongoing
Lactation Support

  • Support is also available for older babies and families considering partial or complete weaning, feeding transitions, nursing strikes, changing feeding patterns, or extended breastfeeding.
